Raybestos Manhattan Award

The winner of the 1973 Raybestos Man-
hattan Community Award is Mrs. Laura Akey.

Laura and her husband, Bill, were
residents of Dease Lake before their
arrival in Cassiar in September of 1966,

1. Served as Guide company
lieutenant and captain.

2. Currently serving as District
Guide and acts as liason between Mother's
Group, Guides, Brownies and outside
representatives.

3. Took Guides to camp at Taylor
in 1972.

4. Organized and led first recog-
nized Guide camp in Cassiar in July, 1973.

5. Serving on the committee for
the set-up of a co-op store in Cassiar.

Laura is presently employed in the
Accounting Office.

The Raybestos Manhattan Award was
awarded to her for her many contributions
to the community.
