Who to talk to? - Loralyn Where to register? - At the PIT When are the games? - Look on the board outside the PIT Intramural leagues will include co- ed indoor soccer, 3 on 3 men’s and women’s basketball, squash ladder, racquetball ladder, ping pong ladder, outdoor soccer tournament, arm wrestling tournament, and sand volleyball tournaments. Keep your eyes on the intramural board outside the Fitness Centre office for up to date information. The deadline for intramural league sign up is September 20th. No registration will be taken after that date. Look on the board for up to date results and game schedules. Anyone who is interested in being a team captain please talk to Loralyn Murdoch at the PIT and she can make you up a team. Recreation Classes The fall lineup of classes are the following: french, jujitsu, jazz, fitness leadership, german, two steping, kung fu, sign language, paper tole, line dance, tai chi, guitar, watercolors, karate, women’s slef defence, belly dance, yoga, squash clinics and lessons; and WCB occupational first aid. Registration is from September 3- 16. Classes start the week of the _ 23rd. Price lists and registration forms can be picked up at the PIT. Tournaments Special Events The results from the 3 on 3 sand tournament on September 7 were the following: co-ed division: “Slammed, spike and hungover” (Eric Pastor, Cherie Alexander, and Graham Pearce) men’s division: “Wolverines” (Bary Tobin, Peter DeTeves, Chris Vardacostas) Everyone had a lot of fun in the ran and the winners left sporting brand new “Timberwolves” hats and t-shirts. The next sand tournament is September 14. Sign up at the PIT. There will be an outdoor soccer tournament on September 28 at the John McInnis soccer fields. A map will be available at the PIT, as well as a schedule of the games. Free chilli for lunch and a lot of fun for everyone. The roat or boast squash tournament will be on October 12th at UNBC, for UNBC staff and students only. There is limited registration, so sign up early. Fitness Centre The PIT has new squash racquets in, so for those of you looking to purchase a racquet, ceme-on rp and check out what wevhave, .We also carry eye protection, balls, grips, wrist bands, head bands, bags, and racquetball gloves. Anyone looking for volunteer hours or who would like to get involved with the Fitness Centre, should come to the PIT and sign up. We are actively looking for dedicated people to help us out with the intramural special events. Depending on the number of hours you work, you may be eligible for free equipment for a 1 month period or for the whole semester. It is a great opportunity to build up your resume and then get out on the couts and play. Sign Up There will be sign up for intramurals and for tournaments at the Fitness Centre office and at the recreation table set up in the Agora during the first couple of weeks of school. You can also sign up at the Fitness Centre office. You can sign up as a team or as an individual, so there is no excuse for not getting involved. POTENTIAL BASKETBALL PLAYERS UNBC will be having a men’s and women’s basketball team which will play in the Prince George league. The games start in mid October and are played at the Civic Centredowhtawiit THe games a scheduled for Mon 2 Thurs and! each team plays 1 - 2 games a week.
