26 Chadwick's Cave was the scene for a sur- prise FAREWELL party at the Ladies Staff- house for Sharon Chadwick, Saturday, June 23rd. The tables were turned however when an unsuspecting Sharon strolled in and surprised her guests. ed and amidst the toasts, the continuous topic of conversation seemed to be relating stories of Sharons past year's activities. Sharons easy wit brought laughs as she reminised her many memories working at the Training Centre, helping at Rene's Bar and tracking down stories and news for the Asbestos Sheet, all which helped keep Sharon busy. Pat's special "chilli" and Sharon's "News Rag Bar" served the hungry and the thristy. Ken and Bruce finally admitted that a tear just might fall after she leaves as the place will seem so quiet without her. Sandy presented Sharon with a card full of warm wishes and a gift of Cassiar Jade earrings. Sharon plans a extended trip through the north and will eventually return to Ottawa or Montreal. We all join in wishing Sharon every happiness for the future, A FAREWELL tea in honor of Pat Flanagan was held on Friday, June 29th, at the home of Evol Shuffler who hostessed the event. Julie Caron and Jetty Veltmeyer helped with the serving of tea, coffee, sandwiches and pastries. A large group of Pat's "long time" lady friends and newer acquaintances gathered to enjoy the afternoon and wish Pat "Good Luck" for the future. Sree een Hae Pictured here are some of the ladies who gathered together to wish Pat Farewell, Pat spent over 7 years in Cassiar and was the Public Librarian for most of that time. She was also well known for her Curling skills and always for that "willing, helping hand" for local organ- izations and clubs. Pat was presented with a memento of Cassiar, a bracelet and broach of jade in an antiqued gold setting, by Evol, on behalf of the group.
