Mr. Eldridge did duty at Nan- a’mo until the Gaol was closed in the fall of 1913, due to the opening of the Oakalla Prison Farm. Transferred to Oakalla as Head Guard, he continued in this post until 1916 when he was appointed Chief Gaoler. He was promoted to Assistant Deputy Warden in 1830 and Deputy Warden in 1937.
