THE BRITISH COLUMBIA POLICE THE British Columbia Provincial Police hold an honoured place in the hearts and minds of all British people. From the be- ginning of the war the Force has been as- sociated with every phase of civil defence and formed an integral part of every secur- ity measure on Canada’s Pacific coastline, where some 400 police officers enforce the law in a territory equal in size to the com- bined area of Holland, France, Italy and Switzerland. We have just received a cur- rent copy of THE SHOULDER STRAP, their official organ which is published semi-annu- ally, and it presents, as it usually does, a fine illustration of how the British Columbia Police Force, which is now in its 88th year, has been contributing to Canada’s great war record.
