Je SHOULDER STRAP BRITISH_COLUMBIA PROVINCIAL POLICE No. 13 THIRTEENTH EDITION OFFICIAL JOURNAL OF THE PUBLISHED SEMI-ANNUALLY Between Ourselves SNOTHER YEAR has rolled ‘round, another milestone \ i in the long and colourful history of British = Columbia's Provincial Police force. Through the pages of this 13th edition of the Force's > official magazine, we have again endeavoured to give you a glimpse of the manner in which four hundred odd police officers enforce the law in a territory equal in size to the combined area of Holland, France, Italy and Switzerland. Conscious of their ever increasing responsibilities and proud of their contribution to Canada’s war effort, the B.C. Police hold an honoured place in the hearts and minds of British Columbians. From the commencement of hostilities the force has been associated with every phase of civil defence and formed an integral part of every security measure on Canada’s Pacific coast. Yes, British Columbians have reason to be proud of the way their force has carried on, and we are proud to be able to bring you these factual accounts of some of the deeds that have high-lighted the force’s eighty-seven year record. As in the past we have striven to strike the right balance to please both police and civilian readers. Since our last edition Democracy’s struggle against the forces of tyranny and oppression has entered its crucial and— we hope—its final stage. Let's keep our eyes on the final objec- tive—Victory.
