Prince George native, Todd Jordan, has relocated back to his home town to coach his former alma mater. Returning to Prince George after coaching for the Women’s team at Quest University in Squamish, Jordan is in familiar territory. A former UNBC Basketball player himself, Jordan was the both the Women’s and the Men’s assistant coach for four years. While Jordan is excited to be back in Prince George, he also hopes for an easy transition as head coach. With his familiarity with both UNBC and the city Jordan should be a welcome addition to the team. Jordan, who is 29 years old, played basketball throughout highschool where he was named the PGSS city all star. During his time with the Timberwolves, Jordan was named team captain, defensive player of the year, and most dedicated to the team. Jordan played for with the Timberwolves for three years before having to leave due to an injury. WithJordan’s credentials and his experience with the team itself, the real question will be whether or not he can produce a season like last year. However, success is not a foreign concept to Jordon who has captured a provincial title before. During his three year stint as coach with the Duchess Park Condors, Jordan helped the team take a city wide championship, two zone titles, and a provincial championship. Last season, the Men's Timberwolves captured UNBC’s first national championship with Michael Raimbault as head coach. Moreover, the Men’s team was_ undefeated at home with a 17-1 season. Unfortunately, shortly after their victory, Raimbault announced that he would be returning to his home province to take the head coach position at the University of Winnipeg. Raimbault was the UNBC Men’s basketball coach for two years. T-Wolves VS UNBC Alumni on Septemer 25 @ 6PM.
