Raley, D.D., who is severing his connection with Coqualeetza Indian Resi- dential School this week following a twenty years tenure of office as principal, with Mrs. Raley, was tendered a farewell reception by the staff and students when occasion was made to express to Dr. and Mrs. Raley the deep regret from all associated with the school, at their approaching departure for Vancouver. The Hon. and Rey. T. R. Heneage spoke in feeling terms of his long acquaintance with the principal and his family and of the high esteem in which they are held by all who know them: also of the distinguished service they had rendered the native people of this province by years of unselfish and devoted labor. On behalf of the staff, Capt. P. F. Pirie, presented Dr. and Mrs. Raley with a radio: Miss Alice Sepass presented Mrs. Raley with a lovely corsage, and Miss Ada Price, who for years has taken an active interest in the school, was presented with an electric toaster and a bouquet by Miss McGregor. Mrs. Arthur Charlton, of Vancouver, formerly Miss Edith Raley, was also the recipient of flowers. On behalf of the student body, Dr. Raley was presented with a Boston club bag, the address accompanying it being beautifully inscribed on vellum, ornamented by a Tsimpshean totem on the left, and by a Bella Bella totem on the right, both beautifully drawn and colored by the students. The address was read by Frank Calder and the bag presented by Philip Watson. Feeling response was made by Dr. Raley to both gifts. Brief addresses of Twenty
