Itwasa game she sos instantly fell in love with. Her physical education & teacher, and physics teacher, continuously motivated her, which she eventually taught herself to do on her own. Marty started to play with the boys, women’s interest in the game slowly started to = = grow. With her strong work ethic, and hard work, her male colleagues slowly appreciated her talents, which she possessed and perfected very quickly. When Marty decided to come to UNBC, she had a desire to start the first Rugby Club in Northern British Columbia. The women’s interest was overwhelming, but she came upon a= great difficulty of finding a coach. There are a couple of professors, and other individuals who are certainly capable of coaching the women’s rugby team, but they would rather coach the boys. This didn’t stop her from taking the matter into her own hands. Marty came to the conclusion of becoming the teacher, and at the same _ time, becoming the student of a sport she had learned to love so dearly. Today, the UNBC Women’s Rugby Team is one of the most successful teams on campus. A team where the girls are there for the love of the game, trying something new, and having a great time. This is where Marty had the task of teaching girls who had never played the game; but with her hard work, natural talent, and. her ability to motivate others, the results have been astonishing. The UNBC’s” very own women’s rugby team has played with teams with a lot more experience; but with a great teacher Marty, has become, the team has happened to come out on. top every time. Today, the UNBC Women’s Rugby Team has an incredible 5- 0 record. This just shows, the job Marty Rombough has done has been nothing but exceptional.
