It’s so nice to come into the house and see that everything is beautiful, even the places nobody sees!” Some people plan not to plan! One person told me “I’m single and I get invited out to people’s homes who have chiidren. It’s enjoyable for me, but I don’t accept invitations for Christmas Eve. I leave the 24th open. With no plans made it brings some excitement into the day. I never know where or with whom I may end up. 1 spend the day visiting people on the street, have a drink in the lounge, and generally make myself available. ] like spreading good cheer! Some people with small children had a few interesting tips. One gal stated that she and her husband get the kids outside after dinner on Christmas Eve. ‘We take the sled, bundle the kids up and walk. By the time we get home, the youngest is usually already asleep in the sleigh. The other two are excited but ready for bed.” Another couple likes to invite single people to their home for Christmas dinner. “I was in a bunkhouse for a couple of years at Christmas and it was depressing” said. one man. “Now I have my own home, | like to share Christmas with others.”’ Christmas stirs many memories in all oF us..some glad, some sad.
