Page 5 CASSTAR | _ WINNERS OF THE "A" EVENT GURLING CLUE sar scone 123456 2467 9 The Cassiar Curling Club opened the 1974-75 season with a 2 End Mini Bonspiel and Social on October 26, 1974 The Ist regular draw began on October 28 with a good turnout of rinks. Kinky Borsato's rink won the ''A'" event and the ''B'' event was won by the Danny Dimitri rink« We held a Club Bonspiel on the weekend of the 6th, : 7th & 8th of December. Everyone took a break from 7 noe curling on Saturday evening to enjoy a cold buffet : provided by the Cafeteria. The Dimitri rink won the ''A" event and the Begon rink won the "'B'. All curlers took a well earned rest until the 28th of December, when the Family Bonspiel was held. Gary Begon's rink won the "A" event and the Frank Nitti rink mee 3 | . won the "B". This now brings us to the second draw of the season - which started in the brand new year with a total of 20 rinks in play. There seems to be very good participation on the part of the curlers with very few missed games. This draw runs till the 13th of February. On the 17th, 18th §& 19th of January the club held the Interdepartmental Bonspiel. There were 23 rinks entered including two student rinks. The Bonspiel pre- sented some of the best curling'of the season. Due to the large number of rinks entered there was almost con- tinued curling from the time the Bonspiel began at 6:00 p.m. on the 17th. A few rinks tried to liven up the spiel by dressing in outlandish costumes. This year the housewives managed to curl well and titillate their audience with seductive nightwear. A delicious cold supper was prepared by Mrs. Betty Peterson's Home Economics Class for the social on Sat- urday.
