1858—1938

On this eightieth anniversary of the founding
of an organized police force in British Columbia,
it gives me a good deal of pleasure to realize that
the B. C. Police have at length an opportunity of
presenting to the public a more intimate glimpse of
their life and work than is usually gained through
the reading of parliamentary reports and official
documents.

Very many police forces throughout the
Empire have their own magazines, and I hope
Tue SHoutper Strap will take a favourable
place amongst them.
