Fret ermeenrery b SCOUTS Fellowship Through Scouting The First Cassiar Scout Troop has been qrowing stea- dily since the new year, from seven we now stand at nearly twenty. Enthusiasm and att- endance have been excellent in spite of winter indoor activities and community org- anized snorts. Also the co- operation of many interested people to help with scout meetinas is excellent to say the least. Lately we have had the rod and qun club mem- bers volunteer to teach our troop fire arm handling on their range, after this ses- sion we will organize a sup- ervised hunting trip. A fish- ing trip is now being nlanned for the near future. Mr. Rollie the reqional Scout Ditector, recently vis- ited Cassiar to enquire of our activities and progress. One of the objectives of this mee- tina was to deleaate two boys to represent the First Cassi- ar Scout Troop at the Boy Scouts summer camn at Jasrer in August. The selection of the boys will be done fairly: merit marks will be derived from attendance, seniority, sportsmanship and fellowship, and cooperation of duties. This is an all expense paid trip of 2 weeks duration. re | * * * “ The Communiiy Centre Activities occurina at the Community Centre over the past month have included two dances, one put on by the Irishmen on the 18th of March, and the other being the Annual Lions Ball, April 15th.
