cont'd ... the bat. From now on we must get Christen mad before a volleyball game, The next game was boys floor hockey. It was a game of con- trolled violence. In this game we won 10-3. I didn't see that game because I went shopping. An activity in which most everybody took part in. Lunch was obtained from the school canteen. They had a canteen because they were trying to raise 2 thousand bucks in 335 weeks, If you liked a big lunch it would be eyen more than Cassiar hot dogs were 35¢\ Fort Nelson didn't have any cheerleaders but some of them picked up a few of the cheer sheets our cheerleaders gave out and made good use of the cheers we had. They even cheer- ed Cassiar so we gave them a cheer back. Boys basketball was next, which we did well in even if we kinda got stumped. We were ahead with 6 nothing and they put this one guy on and the score ended up 33 to 13 for them. The guy that they had put on was 16 but Mr. & Mrs. Olson talked to him in the bar and guess he's on B.C. A basket ball team, He had dropped in from work for 10 min. just to give Fort Nelson a lead. We did better in girls bask- etball. We won with a 14-8 score, They didn't know the first thing about indoor soccer and we screaned and hollered with out rage until we got a new ref. They didn't have a net or crease so we got a crease marked out on the floor and used tap2 on the walls for a net. Before the new ref, their goalie went trotting in and out of his crease and every- body was going in and out of everybodys crease and the ball even hit the roof and wasn't called. With the new ref, the three rules that were dis- obeyed were obstruction, pass- ing the ball behind centerline in a center kickoff and the goalje throwing ball past center. These rules were also ignored in the girls game. Our boys won with a score of 6-5 and when there was 20 seconds left of the game, Fort Nelson scored making it 4-5 for them, Tim kicked it from center and it hit their defence man and went into the goal. making it a tie of 5-5. When there was 2 seconds left of the game, we scored, Fort Nelson didn't heve a girls soccer team but scraped one up and we played anyway, we won with a score of 2-l. The Fort Nelson girls put up a real good game, After the game Mr. O told us we were to be at the school by 7:15 the next morning and we went home to the billets. Some of us went to the show that night which was called the King of the Grizzles. It costs less for local students and the lady assumed most of us were local students and so we paid $1.25 for our ticket. Poor Chris she wouldn't believe he was local and he had to pay more. I weat to it and it wasn't a bad show. There was also a dance that night which was a dollar to get in. Sue was to pick me up after the show but instead she sent a couple guys instead, they wouldn't take me home so I fin- ally agreed to go to the dance. A couple minutes after I got there one of the guys got into a fight. They were both pretty drunk and the guy he was fight- ing with punched the principal and got kicked out. They said they could never keep booze out of their dances, The next morning we left at 8:30. We were supposed to leave at 7:30 but some of the kids were a little late, so was the bus, by about 40 min. The ride home was just as interesting, I thought that the main occupat- ion on the way home would be sleeping but I couldn't have been more mistaken. Some of the girls brought lunches. Dianne's would have been enough to feed the whole bus for 2 days, that is if Tim and Mike hadn't got into it, Others like Kim, Peggy and Darlen started to stuff themselves the minute they sat down on the bus, “On the first lap of our journey there was some sleeping and those who weren't sleeping had cameras taking pictures of those who were. They must have some pretty good pictures, Mrs. Olson must have looked so sweet. It had been cold all weekend and it was still just as cold, so our great seat system still was in progress for those who wanted it, At the girls relieve stops, the boys stops were still be- hind the bus, but when we stopp- ed some of us acquired piles of comic books. No matter how much the owners protested they were eventually passed around the bus. Except of course Brents, who guarded his with his life, Lunch was at summit where they had prepared soup or sandwiches and cake or pie if you wanted it. There were a few exceptions like Tim who prefered to have corn flakes. The rest of the way home he was called corny. This trip was not quite as safe for both Rick Prosser and Allen Hubbell got sick while Wade came very close to it. - We had a big full supper at the Watson Lake Sportsman. A few plates had more meat and Jutta explained that her peas were still alive but otherwise it was real good. It was here where Chris had his 5 bowls of soup and 1's plates of supper. I don't know whether he managed any pie or not, After we got everyone in the bus Hans was given I min. to go and get some supplies for our latest idea. Our gum chewing contest between Chris and Sandy. It was not surprising that Sandy didn't want anymore gum afterwards for she managed to chew 4's packs or 36 sticks of gum, while Chris sat there chew-
