SPORTS NEWS ~: The Cassiar fastball league got off to a flying start Wednesday, June 5th, after the scheduled opener was reined cut on the previous Monday. The action has been fast and furious and the calibre of ball improvee with each game. Competition is keen and it looks like a real race to the wire. A Whitehorse team has been contacted with & Wiew to a home and home competition with them. There has been no reply to date but it is still a good possibility. Watson lake also wants to pley us. Ae a momento of her stay in Cassiar, Mr. J. Berry presented Mary with a dogwood ivory brooch. Miss Treskew worked in the Accounting Dept. She will visit with her parents in Calgary and in August she plans to meet Miss Gill Watts in Barbados, West Indies. Farewell to Al Nick, Royal Bank manager for the past 15 months, who left recently to join Jobn Mahon on a cruise to hurope via the Panam.
