After several hours, he
finally was able to grasp his
wallet and to his great re-
lief retrieved it.
' After arriving back at
school he was talking with
some of his fellow students
and they all related where
they spent their vacations,
what they did, and so on.
When he told about spend-
ing his vacation with his
family and friends on the
reservation away up in the--
north, one of his friends

Happened in a camp in the
B.C. Interior. One morning,
when the gang crawled out of
their tents, they surprised
a black bear taking in his
daily meal at the garbage
dump. The startled creature
climbed the next tree. The
‘men gathered around and dis-
cussed the incident with the
bear watching from higher up.

RARE WHITE MOOSE SHOT

A rare white moose - not
an albino - was baqaed by
hunter Bernie Brooks of
Smithers recently.

The target was siahted
just south of Kiniskan Lake,:

The moose was a youna bull
of about 3-4 years old.

Brooks said he did not
know much about this kind
of moose, "except all kinds
of stories’,

He said that when his
prize catch was inspected
by a Wildlife Branch Offic-
er, the latter said that,
as far as he knew, only four
of this kind of moose have
ever been shot. He said
that this was extremely
rare, Aldergrove Star.
