RAY BESTOS-MANHATTAN COMMUNITY AWARD

Upon the occasion of the second annual Fireman’s Ball, held on October 12th,
the 1968 Raybestos-Manhattan community award was made to Mr. Gordon Edwards. The
above photograph shows Mr. A. C. Caron, General Superintendent (on the left), presenting
the award to Mr. Edwards. :

The nomination of Mr. Edwards for this award was well received by those gathered
at the pre-ball dinner since he is a well-known and extremely popular figure in the community.
His speech of thanks following the presentation was a perfect example of his capable, relaxed
and humourous manner as a master of ceremonies, a position he has filled at many previous
community affairs.

The citation, which listed the many worthwhile activities Mr. Edwards has
participated in or led, was read by Mr. Caron. A cheque for $200 accompanied the award.
