Don passed away Friday evening, Septcinber 16, at the Cassiar Hospital after a four-year battle with can- cer. He was born in Eastern Canada on August 6, 1924. After service in the Military Police, a time in business for himself and a short term as a Fisheries officer, Don ar- rived in Cassiai1 in April 1974. He was instrumental in setting up the security system for Cassiar Mining, and in those days worked out of a sma!’ shack. Don was 4 quiet man who kep: his personal life to himself. Close friends know that he collected cook- books and loved trying innovative recipes that at times only he could eat! He loved young people, and there are numerous stories to this end. : More than any «f this, Don Taylor demonstrated! a deep genuine compassion for all people. Cassiar is the better place for his having been here. According to his wishes, he was intern readers and advertisers for cancelling the Septem- » ber issue.
