The Recruit

In this movie, James
Clayton, played by Colin
Farrell (Yum), is a graduating
MIT student who has been
picked to join the secret world
of the CIA. Somewhere along
the way he manages to catch
the attention of Walter Burke
(Al Pacino) who has a knack

for finding talent. Clayton’s
journey begins with a trip to
“The Farm,” the CIA’s training
facility. Here he finds other
recruits just like him, as well
as a woman named Layla
(Bridget Moynahan), whom
he quickly falls for. While in
training, everything is a test,
whether it be in a bar down-
town or in a hostage situation.
Veteran Burke shows Clayton
the ropes, and is a father figure
throughout. But, as always,
things start to get tough, and
as soon as Clayton thinks he
has had enough, Burke gives
him a “special assignment”: to
root out a mole in the CIA, but
take one guess who it is? As

reach. Well, the second one
starts off there, and you meet
the new girl, Kimberly. She is
going on a weekend trip with
friends, but has a vision while
waiting on an on-ramp to get
to the freeway. Her vision is of
the most impressive car crash
scene that I think I have EVER
seen in a movie! Kimberly
barely escapes, but soon realis-
es that everyone she saved
from this accident ironically
start to drop like flies. More
ironically, this crash happens
on the one-year anniversary of
the plane crash from the first

movie! Hmm...how weird.
Anyway, Kimberly, Clear, and
their new police buddy go on
to investigate the mystery of
“Death's pattern” so they can
figure out how to cheat it.
And that’s pretty much it.

This movie is pretty gory.
No, actually, it’s REALLY gory.
I don’t want to sound morbid
or anything, but the deaths in
this movie do not fall short of
the first one. The ways they
knock off these people are
pretty incredible. HA, okay,
that was morbid, but I still
think it is an _ interesting
sequel.
