The Lion's Club had their annual Ball on May the l6th. Mr. Yves God- bout, Club Manager and Recreation Director, received the guests and seemed pleased at the success of the evening. Lions Club President, Mike Lane estimated that approximately 175 people attended the once a year Ball. Mr. Lane was pleased with the turnout. ‘It was better than we expected", he said. Stew Brigham, assistant to the President of the company was in Cassiar from Toronto and seemed to be enjoying himself along with the rest of the crowd to the music of the Ron Shortt Combo. The Combo came from Whitehorse for the even- ing. According to Mr. Godbout, the profits from the $12.00 per couple dance will go mostly to community organizations and to clubs such as the Cirl Guides and the Boy Scouts. But it did work and we came to the moone I said, "We need air." Then we wanted to go back to earth but we could not go back because the horse was sick. Kathy said, "I have a pony to go back to earth on." By Tracy R eke THE BOY WHO PICKED UP CHINA One day a little boy came from China. The little boy said to his father, "I could pick up China." The next morning everybody jumped out of their beds and they looked out of their windows. The boy was carrying China. Everybody was upset: The boy's father said, ‘You can't do this."
