All the skips on the Inter-departmental
Mine team weren't enough to beat the office
teay. Lost the title again. Better practice
up for next year. :

Although the mine has had several costly
equipment accidents in the last few months,
-Cassiar had, for the 3rd consecutive month,
the lowest injury frequency of all the open
pit mines in British Columbia. The mine,
through improvement of operating and
operating conditions will eliminate all
accidents.

The new TD-25-C Tractor arrived on the
property on about January 10. This tractor
ts to be fitted with a ripper here and
should operating up on the peak about

Everyone survived Christmas and New Years
and once again everything seems to be back
to normal.

One recommendation, if the Liquor Lounge
ever needs a Bartender have "Little Dennis"
make the drinks. He makes them as though
he has to pay for the mix.

A new P & H mobile crane arrived, it sure
is a smart looking machine.

Eh, we found out why the truck drivers have
red hard hats, it's so you can't see their
red face's when they drink coffee in the
Equipment Garage and someone asks them for
coffee money.

We also heard rumours, that the Equipment

Garage will be hiring a ''female floor

sweeper''. I guess we'll have to bring the
safety posters down and put signs up like,
"Watch your Language'', or ''Be a Gentleman".

Reconditioning of the mine equipment is
progressing very well. This month, 478
loader, 473 loader, the 80-D shovel and
both manhauls were all reconditioned and
repainted. The 704 air track drill, 703
rotary drill and 702 rotary drill are
scheduled for reconditioning this month.
