Enter the Young Liberals of Canada, Generation X’s answer to the Liberal Party. Late October (from October 23rd to the 28th ), a small group of Young Liberals from UNBC went to Ottawa for the Biannual Convention. UNBC’s Young Liberals are what we need, simply because of all the alienation that many British Columbians feel. Despite this, the Liberals of British Columbia made their presence known. “B.C. had the largest delegation per capita,” said another member, Charles Hogg when talking about the Biannual Convention. “Prince George also feels the most alienation.” This is also something of note, as this ties in with many of the Young Liberal’s objectives. 9 thru 13. Being that Prince George feels much alienation in Canada, it is important that the Young Liberals motivate people to vote through media (such as “Spotlight on UNBC”), various meetings, and visiting other locations such as schools. Through this, they hope to gain more exposure, as well as reach the youth of Prince George. “Liberals are about respecting people’s rights,” Craig commented in regards to explaining what a Liberal is. “We’re ‘mushy in the middle,’ in that we’re a bit more open minded.” Currently, the Young Liberals have two objectives.
