The beer bottle drive is on again! Please save
your bottles and put them out Saturday
mornings. We have already shipped 1,326
dozen bottles and have received payment for
1,000 dozen. The collection is in the hands
of the Venturers, a branch of the Boy Scout
organization.

CURLING CLUB NEWS

Of interest to all curlers will be the news that
the painting of the lounge is just about com-
plete. It’s going to look pretty nice, too!

The executive have decided to attempt to
heat the ice area this year and requests for
quotations have already been sent out. The
heating should make curling more comfort-
able and should also eliminate the big cracks
in the ice which we've had to contend with in
the past.

Membership cards are now available and will
be on sale at the first social to be held early
in December.

Weather permitting, we should have curling
within two weeks.

It’s nice to see familiar faces amongst all the

In recent weeks many of their friends have
gathered on several occasions to bid farewell to
GEOFF and JANE PARKER. The last of these
was held on Friday, December 1st, at the
Thornicroft residence when a presentation was
made to the Parker's.

Residents of Cassiar for the past five years,
Geoff was paymaster and Jane was the cheerful
and smiling receptionist at the hospital. A very
popular couple, they will be missed by their
many friends.

Geoff and Jane plan to return to England follow-
ing a holiday trip across Canada. Good luck in
the future.
