Page 6 and Down the bally Mrs. Laura Young is visiting her daughter Vickie Cappis for a couple of weeks. Before coming to Cassiar, Mrs. Young spent Some time with her new granddaughter in Stewart, B.C. Vickie and her Mom hope to get some good fishing in. Ted Krawczyk has his parents, Eugene and Cecelia Krawczyk, from Toronto visiting him-and his family. Cyla and Pammy were quite happy to see their grandparents. Mrs. & Mrs. E. Krawczyk are enjoying the quietness and mountains of Cassiar. Miss Mable Bond has comé to Cassiar 3 times now to visit with her niece Marlene and nephew Paul Wood. Aunty Mable toured Whitehorse and then took a scenic trip on the Whitepass Railway to historic Skagway. She participa: ted in the "Show of 98" at Skagway and was put in their jail for dancing with the Immigration Officer. It was all alot of fun and a trip to be remembered. - Hans and Dianne Bilger and their family have been joined this summer by their nephew Donald Hickey who is - 8 years old and flew here on his own from his home in Toronto to have fun with his cousins. Donald really sees a difference in Cassiar compared to Toronto. He really is an ardent fisherman and is hoping to get a "big one" out of Chain Lake to brag about to his family and chums in Toronto since he brought along his own fishing road and tackle box. He can't understand why Cassiar has only one T.V. channel and he is really puzzled by the long daylight hours in Cassiar. I am sure that Donald will have alot of stories to enchant all his school chums in Toronto come September. Donald also participated in the Lions Summer Festi- val and we think he and his cousins, Lucanne and Roger, were the youngest raffle ticket sellers. They sold 70 tickets within, one hour. A special thanks to them all. Pde 6 a al Mederios’ Welcome to Urbano Mederios and his wife Jean and their baby Kevin. "Moose" is a truck driver and says it feels good to be back in Cassiar. The plans call for a cement floor over the pipes so the Arena can be used for many events throughout the year and this is quite costly so for 1975 we are concen- trating on raising enough money for the installation in 1976. Presently we are building an addition to house the plant. Vhncyt and Git Shoes Our fund-raising projects are many and varied. Last week a Thrift and Gift Shop was.opened in the Arena Lounge. FAST BALL TOURNAMENT On Saturday, July 12th, 1975 the Watson Lake ball players inyaded CassZan and this: Included a finst rate , ladies ball team as well on Saturday afternoon. The Watson Lake girls were just too good for the Cassiar team and gave them a short lesson on how the game should be played. Saturday evening the men took over and both the Cassiar team and the Watson Lake team put on a good: exhibition of fast ball. The Cassiar team came out the winners 7 to 1 but it was a good game osfie at no time was it any runaway. The Cassiar ball team looked really smart in their new green and gold uniforms and with all the practicing they have been doing lately they put on a very good exhibition of baseball.
