White Owl and fed like the owlets already there. Finally their child was recovered by the parents with the help of Grouse, often represented with her chicks. The guilty owl was killed and her plumage was adopted as a Symbol of the event. They they adopted the owl as a family crest. Among the tribes of the Interior the Owl was a bird of ill omen, and to answer back to its hoot meant death would follow at no distant date.
