comes lo0 c@a@sg4¢ae The Childrens Christmas party was held on December 22 in the afternoon and the youngsters were treated to some excellent entertainment by Mrs. Loverin and her friends along with a group of men from the bunkhouse who entertained on homemade instruments. This was enjoyed by all. Santa arrived with the help of the Fire Department and gave out gifts to over 250 children in attendance. Due to the fuel crisis it was unfortunate that some of the gifts to be given by Santa did not arrive but after a hectic night by some of Santas Helpers we hope enough were available so that every child receiv- ed a gift. If your youngster did not receive a gift from Santa please contact Frank McLean at the Rec. Hall and perhaps this can be rectified. A hearty vote of thanks to all those who helped make this a pleasant time for the youngsters ZY especially Mrs. Tarasuk and the girls home for the holidays who assisted Santa in his chores. a iy '¢ New Year Revelries! A solid sold out crowd raised the roof off the Rec Hall on December 3lst Eve to ring out '73 and "cheers" in '74. Event- ually the roof returned but settled a little off centre, however, since the Maintenance Crews have to show up anyway maybe they can reline it to Dead Centre. I wish to take this opportunity now to thank one and all who helped the band "Jr. Son of Tahltan'' during their perfor- mance; the Bar Staff and Rec Hall Staff that were present. Also, thanks to the people who gave their time to help the affair, Mr. R. Ash, Mr. A VanHeel, and Mr. L. Kutz. Party hats, noise makers, streamers and balloons were in evidence during the whole affair also a single rusty looking, sad sounding bugle. The T.V. was on stage to syncronize the coming and going of the years; Guy Lombardo did the honour of the official "Count Down" with his group the Royal Canadinas from New York's Waldorf Astoria Hotel.
