Traditionally, it is a week when many scout:
groups hold father and son banquets.

Hardy, has been extemely busy checking out operators
for existing equipment and for the new D-9 tractor, two
D-8 tractors, 824 rubber tired tractor, and the 16G
grader.

Finning Tractor have temporarily moved into the
garage on the peak and are greatly assisting in the
maintenance field by allowing our maintenance men to
concentrate on trucks, shovels, and drills.

The mine encountered some water during February
which slowed up mining and caused problems in the mill
during drying - who would have thought we would have
had to pump water in February?? Fortunately we now
have it under control. We have mined into the old adit
that was driven during 1959 on the 5700 level to check
the quality of the ore. Unfortunately we have found
a lot of timber in the adit which gives the mill
something else to tell us about the mine ore. Seriously
though, everyone can help by keeping wood, paper,
cigarette ends, metal, etc. out of the ore as any
extraneous material can contaminate the ore and cause
problems when-our customers use it during manufacture.

The installation of heating, dust collection and
a vacuum cleaning system is proceeding well in the
primary and secondary crushing buildings and Common-
wealth Contractors should be finished by the end of
April. An additional conveyor will be installed in the
secondary crushing area to enable ore to be stockpiled
