I have recently heard that Knutson died at Dawson Creek at the age of seventy-five and Hans Neilson was killed on his trap line by the accidental dis- charge of a rifle when it fell from his pack as he stooped to attend to one of his traps. While returning on this trip with Knutson we camped one night by the South Pine River, where we caught some fine grayling. Between catching and eating the fish the time went by and it was dark when we made camp, and, as it was a fine starlit night we just spread our tent over the blankets, in- stead of erecting it. In the morning I felt a great weight pressing on me and looking out from under the canvas saw we were On patrol in Peace River country.
