FAREWELL -::: On Tuesday, June 12th, approximately thirty ladies gathered at the Pearson home, where Mrs. Sharon Mathews organized the delectable refreshments, to bid FAREWELL to Mrs. Ken Mitchell. The Mitchell's have spent four years in Cassiar where Ken has been a member of the teaching staff. Marion participated in a sewing group and worked dilegently with the local Brownies. We are sorry to see the Mitchell family go, but wish them well wherever they decide to settle. ek kK k GOOD LUCK ! Len and Janet will be remembered for their many contrib- utions to community affairs and perhaps some of us will communicate with Len in the future by "Ham" radio. 25 BON VOYAGE & GOOD LUCK, AILEEN AND TONY.. -- a seo. Co-workers and friends joined together at the Hockey Arena Lounge, June 8th for a FAREWELL party for Aileen and Tony Trist. Tony worked for 2 years as a maintenance mechanic and Aileen was a cashier at the Retail Store. Well liked by all who knew this happy couple, it was easier to see why they both say that "they can not rememb- er a sad day in Cassiar" Tony roared when Joanne's cake appeared saying "somebody found a map of the world" meaning the sketch of New Zealand and Aileen guessed immediately that the object on top was a, kiwi bird - well done Joanne! Vic Pearson presented Aileen with a black Alaska pendant and Tony a Cassiar jade ring - super reminders of British Columbia jewellery. The Trists left Cassiar June 19th for an 18 week tour of Canada and U.S. and plan to leave for New Zealand in early October, After a visit with parents and friends they eventually hope to return and make their permanent home in Canada. We all join in wishing Aileen and Tony every happiness for the future and truly hope our paths may cross again someday.
