- Hi, my name is Alaina-Marte and I am a
second year Biology major here at UNBC. It
is my goal to finish my Bachelor of Science
at UNBC and to pursue veterinary medicine
at the Western College of Veterinary Medi-
cine in Saskatoon or at UCVM in Calgary.

| have lived in Edmonton, Alberta all my
life, (minus these past 2 years here in Prince
George). 1 attended French immersion
schooling till I was in grade 7 then trans-
ferred to a performing arts school where [
graduated from. | decided to come to UNBC
because of the small class sizes, the awe-
some school reviews | had heard, and for a
change of pace from the big city life. 1 don’t
regret a moment of going to school here.

schedule, For the past 5 summers I have
been involved with a kid’s camp back in
Edmonton. | taught horseback riding and
lead trail rides. This was a challenging job
because many kids are afraid of horses and

Along with slaving away at my stud-
ies, | am super pumped to be involved with
clubs and sports here at UNBC; | joined the
women’s soccer team and have been holding
the position of Treasurer for the Snowboard
and Ski Club over the past school year. This
year | organized, promoted and made hap-
pen the “MARMOT IN MARCH” trip to
Marmot Basin in Jasper, Alberta and, well,
