The Poucé-Coupe river and its south branch enters the tovnship in the southeastern part ané with a winding course flows northwesterly across the town- Ships The river bed is stony or gravelly and of an ave-age width of 3 chains. In the spring or after a heavy rainfall the river fille to its banks. After the freshets heave subsided there is generally very Little water and the stream would average about 1 ehein in width with an average depth of 2 feet. The banks of the river in the southerly two-thirds of the tewnship are steep and from 50 to 106 feet high, the surrounding country is rolling and in general cone tinues to rise on each sige from the river forming a valley about © miles wide ané 650 feet deepe From the eige of the valley on the scutherly side of the river to the southern and westem limits of the town~ _Ship the country maintains the same high slevation and eontinues rough and treken. lS#issset creck, a strean of about 20 feet wide, emerges from a deep gsorge-like velley in the township te the west and empties inte the vouee-Coupe river near the southeast corner of section 22. THis stream is at the northerly limit of the rough and hiliy country. The height of land on the easterly side of the river oecurs in sections 25, 26 and 35. Taken as a whole the township is very hilly and broken ané Large pertions are unsuitable for agriculturte "ne fertile belt of lané kmown as Youce-Coupe prairie extends into and occupies that portien of the township lying north of Bissett ereck and west ef rouce- Coupe prairie. ‘The remainder of the township is more or Less timberefie In the valley of the Pouce-Coupe river between the top of the river benks to the lower slopes of the hills on either side the surface is generally eovered with seattered po ler, 1 inch to 4 inches ané with small patches of open. ‘The east half of section 24 is lightly timbereé with serud peplar and with large open patches in the northwest quarter. in the creck valleys in sections <, 5, 6, 5, 9, 16, 21 and 22, fires have swept repeatedly destréying the olé stends of timber. This lané is nov covered with a medium stand of small poplar, Willow and alders. The remainder of the township which is comprised of hill tops is all densely timbered, The areas in the western part are covered vi th popler, spruce, 6 inches to 12 inches and jack pine to 10 inches. @hile the heieht of land inthe southeast and noxtheast parts has a dense covering of pplar up to 4 inches with thick willows and alders and some old semi~ decayed windfalle
