Although the’ turnouts have not been as good as in our first season, we are now averaging two tables, or eight people. The regulars are back with us again and their consistent support is very much appreci- ated. A new member, Iris Trask, has joined us as well. Iris played only once or twice before coming out to our bridge sessions. She basically had to learn the game again and is learning the skills of bridge very quickly with assis- tance from everyone. In fact, during the first game she played on her own, Iris came in tied for first ‘place! if there are any new bridge players in Cassiar, please do not hesitate to come and watch and see what the game is all about. For those inexperienced bridge players, duplicate bridge is an excellent method for refining your > skills. For those of you out there who are experienced but believe that duplicate is a different kind of bridge. come out to play and you will quickly realize that the only differences are in scoring and in the mechanics of keeping track of the tricks. During the first six nights we have had four 2-table games and two | 3/4-table games during which we had our unique Cassiar method of having “rotating dummies”. As of October 14, Kees is in first place with 24 points overall, followed closely by Ed Craft with 21 1/2 points. Ed would have been in first place but he missed two sessions. All the bridge club members wish Ed well in his new home town of Smithers and hope that whenever he is back in town he will join us on Tuesday nights. Third place overall goes to Brock Taplin with 17 points. Bridge is played every Tuesday night in the Library at the Rec Centre in Cassiar, starting at 7:30 p.m. sharp. If you wish to find out more about duplicate bridge or if you are interested in joining, please telephone Kees van der Pol at 778-7567. “CHANGE OF NAME ACT” (Section 6) NOTICE OF APPLICATION > 0-0-0 0-0 ; PROVINCE OF BRITISH COLUMBIA | Notice is hereby given that an application will be made to i the Director of Vital Statistics for a change of name,’ ursuant to the provisions of the “Change of Name Act” y me: Joseph Alec Pete Tashoots. lommas} To change my name from Joseph Alec Pete Tashoots to % Alex Tashoots.
