A location survey of the 86 claims was completed and six internal fractions were staked. The claims will now be brought to lease under the Yukon Quartz Mining Act. Geophysical and geological surveys to outline the ultrabasic intrusives underlying the sediments were made. Two anomalous sections were found, one approximately 4,000’ north-east of the main orebody and the other to the south-west of and adjoining the main orebody. Five diamond drill holes, totalling 2,000 feet, were drilled before the Operations were shut down for the winter. Four preliminary holes in the northern anomaly indicated a zone of serpentine with a low fibre content. The anomaly is open to the north and 61 additional claims have been staked and a geophysical survey will be carried out. The other anomaly extending to the south-west of the Porcupine orebody in which more than 5,000,000 tons of ore was developed by underground work done in 1958, indicates the probable extension of the orebody. Time permitted drilling only one hole to a depth of 629 feet approximately 300 feet from the nearest proven ore. The hole intersected 180 feet of sediments, followed by 449 feet of serpentine of which the first 80 feet averaged 2.8% fibre, the next 240 feet averaged 7% fibre and the final 129 feet averaged 2.19% fibre. The hole bottomed in fibre-bearing serpentine. A further programme of diamond drilling to outline the extension of the main orebody will be undertaken in 1964. KUTCHO CREEK ASBESTOS COMPANY LIMITED The “Letain” asbestos mineral claims are owned by Kutcho Creek Asbestos Company Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of your company. The action brought by the original vendor to recover title to the property has been disposed of by the Supreme Court of Canada in favour of the company. No work was done on the property during the year. ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS The staff and employees at the mine are to be congratulated on winning the “Open Pit Mines and Quarries Safety Award”, having had the lowest accident frequency in this classification in the Province of British Columbia during 1962. The Board expresses its appreciation of the loyal and efficient services rendered the company by its officers, staff and employees. On Behalf of the Board, F. M. CONNELL, J. D.
