The country on the northerly side of the river is mostly all included in a reserve for timber. hile this land has been heayily timbered very little virgin forest now remains. Fires have overrun this part and have made great ine roads on the timber. Adjoining the river there is a larger area of lightly timbered lands with numerous small openings. This land is suitable for stock grazing in its present atate. On the southvesterly side of the river most of the land is aiapted to agriculture. Most of it is easy of clearing and with many smell areas of open, stock raising on @ smail seale is being carrieé on suecessfuily by a few settlers locsted in this townships. Little or no cultivation has yet been done; early summer frosts eccur frequentiy. The main road from Pouce-Coupe enters this tovnship at the northeast corner of seo- tien 12 and leaves it in section 18. A good briéige on this trail spans the river in section 10.
