In our Drygoods Store we have just received a large
supply of CAMPING GEAR for this summer. We have receivec
sleeping bags, tents, back-packing equipment, hiking |
boots, etc. If you cannot find what you are looking for
do not hesitate to ask.

All our FISHING GEAR has arrived and should be out
very shortly, so for all you anglers ‘and hikers, get
your equipment early.

We have also received a good quantity of CHILDREN'S
SUMMER CLOTHES. We are also well prepared for the
summer thaw. We just received a huge quantity of RUBBER
BOOTS, both ladies and mens, and boys and girls.

In the Grocery Store we have just received a ship-
ment of new shopping carts so as not to run out of carts
during peak hours.

For our Meat Department, we have ordered a BARBEQUE
MACHINE for all you people who enjoy Hot Barbequed
Chickens or Spareribs, etc. We hope to have this within
a month or so.

We have been fortunate to have a good supply of all
fruit and vegetables and we do hope that there is no let
up as California is having a very good growing season
this year.

variety of HAMS’ for EASTER this year.

Cassiar was pleased to have Dr. M. Kwasnek, —
Optometrist from Kelowna, Mr. Curly Oldach, Optician and
Mrs. Inga Oldach, Receptionist from Prince George, extenc
their services to this northern community.

Dr. Kwasnek and Mr. § Mrs. Oldach are planning to
come back to Cassiar in August or September. Their
return will be advertised in.the Asbestos Sheet.

General Educational Development

This series of five exams is scheduled for Friday
and Saturday, May 28th and 29th in Cassiar. Successful
completion of these exams can secure for you the
equivalent of Grade Twelve diploma. Home Study texts
are available and tutoring may be arranged upon inquiry.
78% of the adults who write at Dawson Creek are success-
ful in passing the exams. If you are interested contact.

Air Brake Course

The college will offer two airbrake courses this spring.

Section A: April 13 -.Saturday, April 17th, incl.
Section B: April 20 - Saturday, April 24th incl.
Times: Evenings 7:00 - 10:30

Saturdays 9:00 - 5:00

This course consists of 16 hours of classroom instructior
and 8 hours of practical. Upon completion you can write
an exam which will give you an endorsement for on high-
way operation and limited off highway operation. Arrange-
ments will be made within the next month to enable you
to write for the off highway endorsement which will
apply to all of B.C. Check with the instructor for more
information regarding this.

DRIVER TRAINING

There is a possibility that.a qualified driver
trainer can come to Cassiar. Mr. Bill Conell of Fort
St. John presently is working with the college to train
adults to drive. Most adults require approximately 10 -
1 hour lessons to prepare them to pass the driving
test. A driver training car is provided on which the
adults learn to drive. A minimum of 15 adults must
register for this course to be offered in Cassiar.

Cost: $15.00 per lesson: usual cost $150.00
for an adult.
