(- DUPLICATE BRIDGE TOURNAMENT On Tuesday, June 13th, at 8:00 p.m., in the Curling Lounge, history was made. Possibly for the first time in Cassiar twenty-one bridge enthusiasts banded to- gether for the first leg of a Duplicate Bridge Tournament. Letters will be going out to each Father. wR: KR KK Ok Under the supervision of Mr. Aldo Borsato and in cooperation with the St. Johns Ambulance organization, six of our local Scouts have been receiving instruction in first aid. The six lads, Leo Duri, Evan Kipnis, Don Samson, Brian Caron, Otto Kliment, and Theo Van Heel, wrote their final exams Monday, June 5th, with Dr. S.J. Navin handling the testing. Mr. Borsato advises that all six lads passed. Our congratulations to the boys and our hearty thanks to Aldo for his time, effort and interest in this important endeavour x kK kK kK ke & * « The special training course for youth leaders was completed recently. Bob Lovell reports that fourteen interested people attended the course, with seven of these able to attend all the sessions and be eligible for the training certificates. Highlight of the evening was the presen- tation of awards to members of the Pack. Congratulations, Brownies! Brownie leaders and the executive of the parents committee of the Cassiar Brownie Mothers wish to express their thanks to the community centre, Mrs. Madeline Royds, Mrs. Sheshi Sarin, Mrs. Helen Lovell, Mr. Jim Rivard, and to all the Brownie Mothers whose efforts and presence so largely contributed to the success of the evening. x &k& kK ke & kk *&
