We are currently advert— ising for a new teacher and will be moving some students into a new Grade Four/Five class. TUXEDO JUNCTION CONCERT Our students will be treated to another professional concert at 12:15 p.m. on Monday, January i4, 1991. Tuxedo Junction, under the leadership of Mike Kinzie, will make our gym rock with sounds of Boogie—Woogie and swing. We are looking forward to a special musical treat. An evening performance for the community is aiso planned on January 13, 1991. The details of this performance are available from Sandy Sandvik at Northern Lights College. SCHOOL ADVISORY COUNCIL Would you like to be more involved in your child’s educa— tion? Our School Advisory Coun- cil desperately needs more mem— bers. We meet once a month — on the second Wednesday at 7:30 p.m., alternating between Snow- ridge and Cassiar Schoal. The next meeting is sched-— uled for January 16 at 7:30 p.m. in the library at Cassiar Secon— dary School. Please come along!! STORY CONTEST WINNERS! Pizza will sell for $1.50 for a slice and juice for 1.00, with the money being collected on Monday and Tuesday of the week the pizza is being served. Our Super Hero Fenny Drive has yielded 18,700 pennies to date! We were pleased ta turn over a cheque for $187.00 to our School Advisory Council towards the purchase of our new play- ground equipment. We are anxiously awaiting the much postponed visit from our Public Health Nurse. She 15 scheduled to conduct vision and hearing screenings on Year 1 and Year 2 students on January i15, 1991. Parents and teachers with other student health concerns are asked to make referrals at this time, as well.
