62 This township is reached from Hythe, the Pouce-Coupe = Grande Preirie wagon:road crossing the towmship. The nearest store and telegraph office is at Hythe. The nearest post office is at Brainard on the northwest quarter of section 2 of this township. This township is very rolling with several large lakes ang swamps in it. Very little settlement has bem mace in this township and except for a few small areas most of the land suitable for settlement and which ean be economically improved is homesteaded. The soil in generai is fine gandy loam to fine sand with areas of gravel in the ridges ané is devoid of vegetable matter. A large part of the district has been swept by fire leaving areas of brule and windfall grown up with second growth poplar to 6 inches diameter and wi llovs, whieh could not be economically improved. A fair amount of hay is cut along Sinclair ereex to the west and north- west of Sincleir lake. This is the only large extent of hay in the township. With the lakes and ereeks there is a good water supply but as a whole this township offers very Little inducement to settlers on account of the peor quality of the soil. Exeept for the Fouce-Coupe- Grande frairie trail which is in fairly good condition here are practically no trails in the township. Rumerous ducks were seen on the lakes and partridge seem plentiful.
