Newspapets to read, cozy eating spaces, and local are make it a great place to take a break while : shopping downtown. The favored food is the cinnamon buns, but | the coffee cake also gets rave reviews. Additionally, you can cus- ~ tomize your lunch and grab a smoothie booster. Ac- tually, they also have bike gear and some scooters, but you get the idea. Also a good place to get advice and local bike routes, plus if you buy a bike you get free service for life. B&B Reopens Creative Manor: Pottery, MITCHELL GRANT = 5 STAFE WRITER Housewares, Gifts After being closed for about a month due to a fire that started { in the early hours of September 3“ and burned the store nearly ANDREW KURJATA to the ground, B&B Music, the North's oldest music store, having EDITOR IN CHIEF Location: 1511 3rd Ave. opened in 1949, finally re-opened their doors to their clientele of musicians on September 30th. The store was packed with customers from open to close, an opening date that was not advertised to the general public. T heir hours of operation are now returning to normal (Monday — Friday, 9:30-6 and Saturday 9-5:30) in their new temporary lo- cation, just up the street from what remains of their charred and boarded up store on the corner of 3% Ave and George Street. The owner and operator, Jay Scholton, as well as many of the employees were unavailable for comment at the time as they were busy giving their dedicated customers the best service possible, There are many sales on right now as they try and clear out what is left of the fire damaged stock. Don't get the wrong idea, having seen the stock first hand, and being a musician myself, I can vouch for it to some degree and say that equipment seams to Hours of Operation: M-Sa 9:30-5, open until 6 on Fridays Contact: 564-3100 A new addition to the downtown scene, this home decorating store was only two weeks old when we visited it. Owned and op- erated by Cindy Gibson, this is a great place to go if you're looking to upgrade the look of your new apartment, or are simply looking for-some nifty utensils-- like sporks. Not only is the store local, so is much of the inventory- about half the pottery is made in Prince George, and so is most of the quilting and artwork. The grand opening will be happening sometime in October, so keep an eye out. Opened just over a month ago by Sherry Savory, this is a place definitely worth taking a look at. At first it looks like a pretty basic gift shop-- can- dles, cards, and some really cool remote-controlled cars are the first things you see, But as your eyes wander towards the back you notice two things: the wall at the end of the room is decorated with samurai swords, shields, and chain metal, and next to this is bubbling water of various colours. This is the O2 bar. Basically, you attatch a straw to your nose (not at all painfully) and oxygen is pumped directly in. And not just normal, everyday oxygen, but flavoured oxygen. Choices range from wintergreen to cappuccino to straw- berry and much more, and you can get four different flavours in a single EDITOR IN CHIEF session.
