4 April 6th was the end of Tuesday night Volleyball
at the Commmity Centre. After 10 weeks the girls are
certainly more proficient at the game and there have been
fewer casualties. You say casualties! - Yes - Volleyball
does demand sports agility and at the beginning of the
season the various teams lost some enthusiastic players
due to ankle injuries. : .
The league was a source of many things such as:
_ 1. Development of new friendships.
we 2. The tuning up of latent sports skills.
; 5.. A relaxing evening out.
; On the whole it must be said that attendance was
quite good although at the end of the league the Smokey
3 Blues (Royal Bank) seemed to slip a little in their
<i committment.
The final standings were as follows:

First Place: Spikettes - 18 Points
Second Place: Torpedos -=i7° Points :
Third Place: ~Playgirls - 13 Points
Fourth Place: Smokey Blues - 6 Points

All the players were kept in place by the trusty
whistle of Recreation Coodinator Jeff Such who attempted
“s to keep the mood of the games to one of enjoyment.

If laughter is what you are looking ‘for, we
guarantee you will laugh at this one. We're in an

‘apartment house where Tommy Briggs has his mail, calls,

and visitors frequently misdirected to the upstairs
apartment of a girl whose pen name happens also to be
Tommy Briggs. The stage is set for the arrival of the
big boss who insists on all his young execs, being
married. Tommy tries to have someone pose as his wife,
but he makes the mistake of having too many do so — the
chambermaid, his pal, and a girl from out of town who
has come to visit the author upstairs. It gets a bit
stickier when he remembers that he got a big bonus last
year on the strength of a new "baby" and now he must
produce that too. ‘And, of course, again he gets too
many babies, including one not of his race. While all
this juggling is going on, there is the compulsion of
the chambermaid to keep coming in and swiping a drink;
and while that isn't so bad in itself, she has been
directed always to take to the cleaners whatever clothes
she finds on the chair. And a lot of clothes find their
way there - that of the.boss, when he stops by to shower
before the C of C dinner, as well as that of the girl
visitor who should have gone to the apartment upstairs.
