"Dem Belly Full?" (Food Adventures in P.G.) Nadine Gray & Melanie Bessler Location: Spruceland McDonald's What we ordered: the Month Meal" Details of our experience... "Taste of dining Conveniently located on the bus route, Spruceland McDonald's awaits its 9 billionth customer. This clean, quiet restaurant is fully equipped with a friendly staff and, most importantly, a soundproof ballroom. As we approached the service counter, we were greeted by an eager "May I help you?" We answered by placing our order: "...a BBQ Bacon Burger Meal with a coke, please." The service was both courteous and efficient (efficient, perhaps, because our burger had been sitting in the ‘out' tray for quite a while). We flashed the cashier our student cards and received an extra fifty cents off. Overall, the service was good. After making our selection among the available seating, we examined our meal. The fries were crisp, golden brown, and salted to perfection. Then...we opened the burger. On one side we found a generous amount of processed cheese, melted on a nutritious, non-toasted, sesame seed bun and covered with a hamburger patty. The othe rhalf was delicately smothered in BBQ sauce, AKA ketchup with pepper in it. The sauce was disguised by bacon which was Strategically packed into a circular formation. For a unique flavour, the burger also contained onions and pickles. In an attempt to be honest without sounding too negative, our opinion of the meal can be summed up in the following comment: "We wish we could have merely ‘tasted! the ‘taste of the month’ instead of having to scarf down the whole . thing." (Pepto Bismal.) Better luck next month? We don't want to sound too pessimistic; after all, there are quite a few pros about eating at McDonald's. The location is more or less convenient, the service is fast and the prices are affordable. ****Also remember that when your student card is presented at any of the McDonald's locations in P.G., you will receive fifty cents off!!! What a deal! The Business man and the Cowboy A businessman decides that his job is too stressful and buys a farm in Texas. Quick Cash On Campus Dayle Bowyer The UNBC. Board of Governors has appointed the Bank of Montreal as the University’s banker in response to a call for the provision of banking services. Since UNBC’s original banker was the Royal Bank, the university is quick to point out that the decision to appoint the Bank of Montreal was made solely on the basis of the competitive proposal process, but thanks the Royal bank for four years of excellent service. The Bank of Montreal will effectively take over the University finances as of February lst, which will include handling an account currently in excess of $25 million.
