Mr. Redel, the Director of Lands, has contacted Mr. McLellan, the B.C. Hydro representative at Prince Rupert, to as- certain what plans B.C. Hydro may have for extending their services to the Dease Lake area. Mr. Redel said that advice was re- ceived from Mr. McLellan that following a survey of the area, he was recommending to his superiors that Hydro consider extending their services to Dease Lake, Telegraph ‘Creek, and a mining establishment in the general area. Further information is that on May 23rd Mr. Redel reviewed this matter with the Honourable R.A. Williams, the Minister of Lands, Forests, and Water Resources, and that from this meeting, the Department is not prepared to encourage the supply of power by any private individual or corp- oration at this time, but rather the B.C. Hydro will, undoubtedly, move into the area in the near future, and that the B.C. Hydro Board will review the whole situation at its next meeting. Trusting that this may bring you up to date in the matter of power distribution in the area, ee Frank Calder, “y Minister Without Portfolio. xe og: ss Sak be aa pan, heoes Six Naas i ee ye eet ae ee anaes ~WINNER OF THE ROD AND GUN CLUB RAFFLE reEKEK KKK KER KR RK KKK KK enny Stevenson During the week-end of June 23rd and 24th you may have noticed a couple of small aircraft flying in and about Cassiar.
