Sometimes Santa Clause comes and gives us presents, after that we sing songs, we play games, we dance and we play our new records. ’ We think of Jesus who was born on Xmas day. We sometimes say our prayers. We stay up late. Xmas is fun. © "WINNER WHAT CHRISTMAS MEANS TO ME ‘by Melissa Lecours, Grade 3 I like Christmas because Santa gives presents to good girls and boys. WINNER | THE HAPPIEST CHRISTMAS EVER by Robbie McPhee, Grade 5 Dease Lake School - It was Christmas Eve and everybody was excited. They just could not wait until Christmas — day,all except Camola (meaning:mean unbielver). He was the meanest man on Urak. Everything he owned was mean, yes even his house, clothes and — food. Everyone was afraid of him except the _ children who thought he. was-funny. He.got mad _.when. they laughed at him. Nobody had ever "given him anything. That is why he was so mean and did not believe in any thing. Well-the child- ° ren of the town had been saving their money to . buy him a present so.he would not be so mean and would start believing. Well finally it was bed- - time and everybody went to sleep with happy - dreams in their heads. When they woke up they found lots and lots of wonderful things. After all . the children had ate their breakfast and opened all their presents, they bundled up in their cloth- - es and started to trudge through, the star dust (for they have no snow on their planet) to Camola’s house to give him the present. When they arrived at Camola’s place and got into a glass tube and they pressed a button and they went down until they hit the floor. When they got there they saw him mumbling and grumbling very much like our ' make believe character-Scrooge. When he saw them he growled “What are you doing here’’. They said “We came here to give you this’ and with that they handed him the present: When he received the present he said “T believe, I believe”’, and from that day on he believed and wasn’t so mean.
