Excellent participation and good fun set the mood with Albert Kutsche winning in the ''A'' event over Frank Nitti and Ed Hanley just barely easing out Rick Zemenchik in the ''B' event. The Zemenchik's rink was the only all-student team in the Bonspeil. The long draw before Christmas finally came to an end when Jerry Bermel beat out Jay Lee. The new draw starts on January 4 with a lot of curlers signed up. The rating system is in effect now so if you're curious about it, ask John Forbes to explain it to you. The next fun weekend in store is the Inter-departmental Bonspiel on January 11 - 13. This will separate the sheep from the goats in Cassiar and we all hope to see some good curling. Our first invitation to an out-of-town Bonspiel has come from Lower Post. Details of this are posted on the bulletin board in the curling rink so have a look and watch for others that should come soon. If you ordered a Name Pin, they have arrived and can be bought from Barbara Humphrey. The Cassiar Curling Club pins are now also available. The Ladies are still curling on Wednesday afternoons so come on out if you want a mid-week afternoon break. Also remember Martha's Coffee Kitchen is open every night so come on down for a great snack or a coffee.
