Page 8 Cassiar Courier Vancouver DANI MICHAEL AND MARGARET VOSS In Cap and Gown Dani and Margaret carried a single stemmed rose to receive their well-earned diplomas to complete 12 years of their education. Dani, an 8 year resident and Margaret a 17 year resident of Cassiar, completed their last two years in Vancouver at Convent Of The Sacred Heart School on June 16, 1978. Their formal dinner and dance was held on June 17th at the Bayshore Inn, followed by a weekend of beaches and barbecues. While Dani was seen hurdling waves in formal dress at Spanish Banks, Margaret in her formal manner, including tophat, searched endlessly for her dancing shoes. MARGARET VOSS Dani is attending B.C.1.T. in the fall to pursue . 4 career in Sciences. Margaret sees the future in Victoria at Camosun College, involved in - early childhood education. Cassiar ANNE -MARIE SANTOS, BERNDT GUDERJAHN, AND ESTELLE BERUBE va In beautiful surroundings created by Gwen Robbins and art students, three students of Cassiar School were given their farewell from the school. Estelle Berube, Berndt Guderjahn and ® Anne - Marie Santos completed their public educa- tion on June 23, 1978 with a formal ceremony which featured guest speaker, the Honorable Iona. Campagnola, Member of Parliament for Skeena-Cassiar. Parents, teachers and friends of - the grads were in attendance. Anne-Marie Santos gave the Valedictory Address on behalf of her fellow students. Grads, parents, teachers and special guests attended a banquet after the ceremony and returned to the school for the Graduation Dance. Decorations in the school gynasium were out- standing. Graduates were able to see pictures of themselves from the past in displays en- hanced by potted plants contributed from the community. Special guests included Mrs. Campagnola, Mr. Brian Pewsey, Mr. Reg Ash, Mr. Bob Walker and Kathy Johnston. Pianist , Lil Kamlah played during the ceremonies and three Cassiar students, Donna Taylor, Karen Taylor, and Leslie Kurian presented two musical selections. ESTELLE BERUBE Berndt Guderjahn recieving his diploma. Grads off to College ~The entire 1978 graduating class of Cassiar School: has left Cassiar for further post-grad education. Estelle Berube is enrolled in a first ‘year University Arts programme at the College of New Caledonia in Prince George. Berndt Guderjahn is enrolled in Forestry Technology at the same college. Anne-Marie Santos was accepted into first year Arts at the Univeristy of Victoria.. : The school staff along with all of the commun- ity joins in wishing these three students well. | Cadoret-Charbonneau Joined in holy matrimony on July 22, 1978, were Pierrette Cadoret, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Fred Cadoret, and Andre Charbonneau, son of Mrs. J. Charbonneau. Pauwels, O.M.I. officiated at the ceremony, held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. The reception followed in the Church base- ment, Guests. present from _ out-of-town were: Mrs. J. A reception followed at the Curling Club. Peter Selikan and Debbie Tripp witnessed the Ceremony. Out of town guests included Woody’s parents, Mr. & Mrs. Frank Woodrow of Castlegar, B.C. and his sister and family, Tina, Gordon and Penny Krantz. Pauline’s mother, Mrs. Edna Harper from Sarnia, Onta- rio arrived in spite of the Air Strike, Congratu- lations were received from Pauline’s father, John Harper, who was unable to travel and her brother, Glen, from Edmonton; Alta. _ Barbara Schneeberger, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Werner Schneeberger and Daniel Leckie, son - of Mr, & Mrs. Oliver Leckie were married on July 29, 1978 in Cassiar, B.C. The Maid of Honor was Kathleen Schneeberger, sister of - brother of the Groom. The Ceremony was performed by Rev. Fredrick Beacham at the Cassiar Anglican Church, A reception follow- ‘ ed at the Old Lion’s Room with about fifty © - the bride and the Best Man was Bruce Leckie, Fall Weddings Borsato-Drzimotta Z))\ )\ MODOC MODOC DTODIOO KOS OO On September Ist, family and friends of Wally - Drzimotta and Marie Borsato gathered to see them married. Frank Buckley performed the civil ceremony. Wally was iattended! by his - brothers, George from Prince Rupert and John of Cassiar. Marie’s attendents were her sisters Denise and Bernald, and her nieces Chiera Borsato and Tara Komperdo. Marie’s long dress of champagne cotton was enhanced by pastel embroidery and a sheaf of orange and yellow roses. Denise and Bernald wore dresses in a similar style in white cotton scattered with pink flowers. They carried sheafs of white carnations. Chiera and Tara also wore long cotton dresses, and Chiera’s basket of pink, and Tara’s ‘basket of yellow carnations complimented the colours of their dresses. At the home of the bride’s parents, toasts were made for the couple’s future happiness and photos were taken by John Slana. A dinner and reception was held at the Lions room where fall flowers and a cake beautifully decorated in fall colours were admired. Master of Ceremonies was Roger Borsato. Wally’s father Walter travelled from Merritt for the wedding, - and Marie’s grandmother Mrs. Sarah Roberts and. her grandfather, Mr. Roger Pasiaud, were very special wedding guests. Wally and Marie honeymooned in Hawaii and Vancouver. : friends and relatives attending, Christensen- Dykstra Saad RE Seen mK Lorraine Christensen, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Martin Christensen, Olds, Alberta, and Bob Dykstra, son of Mrs. Maikke Dykstra, Beams- ville, Ontario, were married at Olds, Alberta, on September 16, 1978. Lorraine and Bob now live at 299 Carmacks Street, Cassiar, B.C., where Bob is manager of the Club Lounge.
