GO VIERNOR RUPERT McKENZIE On May 29, 1971 at a Lions Club convention in Kodiak, Alaska, Rupert McKenzie was elected Governor of the 49 Borealis Dis- trict. This is the first time in over 1O years that a Canadian has been Governor of District 49-B. wuring the coming year Gover- nor Megenzte will travel exten- sively in Northern Canada am Alaska visiting all 38 clubs in nis District. RAFFLE FOR MR. B. PEDERSEN The winner of the Tool Box in the Raffle was won by Mr. T. O. mickey of Gordies Trucking in White- horse. ‘The proceeds of the Raffle will go to the late Mr. B. Pedersen's family. Mr. redersen was a mechanic with Cassiar Asbestos Corp. for over 6 yearse Mrs. Pedersen, on behalf of herself and her children would like tc thank all the people of Cassiar for their nelp and kindness. A FAREWELL, TO ERIC WILLIAMS On March 26th, Mr. E. Williams terminated his employment wi th the campany to assume the position of Labour Relations Supervisor with Utah Mining & Construction Co. who opened a new mine at Port Hardy, Vanwmuver Island. Eric who was with the company fa only 18 months was involved in many of the community activities. He instructed the Karate classes, the ladies calisthenics, organ- ised and instructed the swimming programme at the pool, edita@r of the Asbestos Sheet am his biggest contribution was undoubt— edly the centennial programme of the weekend of March 16th. Our loss is Port Hardy's gain and we all wish him weil in his new position.
