ST. PATS DAY DANCE. The Leprechauns were out three days early this year and teamed up with our local "Irish" and associates, to work diligently at putting on a successful dance. On Saturday, March 14, a lively crowd turned up at the Rec. Hall for the annual St. Patricks Dance to ‘swing’ to the music of the Bel Airs from Watson Lake. Shamrocks were donned by the "Orange and the Green" alike, not to mention the outsiders. During the evening a draw was held and the lucky recipients of the prizes were Jocelyn Murphy and Jock Rattray - "The luck O'The Irish eh"! The dance was a teemendous success and you can bet your bottom dollar, or should I say “Pounds, shillings and pence" that we'll all be looking forward to next St. Patrick's Day, when once again we can kick up our heels and whirl off to "Dublin in the Green". BRUCE WESTON'S DEPARTURE The city lights seem to attract more people than we can keep track of and we sincerely hope it wasn't too foggy or rainy for Bruce to see them when he arrived in Vancouver. Bruce Weston was one of our Friendly Royal Bank Clerk-Tellers and he left us for greener and sunnier pastures, on March 14. He didi't leave without a farewell though. %n Friday, March 13, many of Bruce's friends gathered at a farewell party and wished him the bestoof luck in the outside world. Bruce was presented with a going away gift, but only "The Chosen Few" - Males no less, were allowed to witness the presen- tation. We hear this was a terribly unique gift and one well worth receiving. Goodbye and Good luck Bruce. NEW FACES By now you must all have noticed a new ‘smile’ in the Royal Bank; this belongs to Ted Hay who arrived in Cassiar on March 10, and hails from Vancouver - Hastings and Nanaimo branch. Ted replaces Bruce Weston and figures he'll be in Cassiar for approximately 10 - 12 months. Ted enjoys hunting, etc., so we hope he makes the best of the hunting season and can find other things also to interest him and make his stay here an enjoyable one. Good luck Ted. We have a new face in the Geology Department - Dave Tate - Dave is a REgistered Engineer in B.C. and will be working as Assistant Chief Geologist for Cassiar Asbestos. Before Dave came up here, he did private consult- ing for an engineering office in Vancouver. Let's hope he enjoys his stay in Cassiar and we wish him lots of luck.
