er t25. 2 Sports, any body? Well not yet... Psycho America By Mel Bostrom Sports, that’s what should be in this space right now. Yet, it being the first month of the semester, the only sports being played at this time is ping pong outside the Wintergarden. I’m not saying that there aren’t any sports other than ping pong. All I’m saying is that our sports teams and clubs are getting organized and practices are being held. From rugby, soc- cer, basketball, fencing and as well as some other sports, this University is young but very lucky to have a wide variety of athletics to choose from. With the varsity Basketball, both men and women, teams practicing now, improvement and new players will surely allow the teams to do well this year. The junior varsity teams, including Rugby, Soccer, Nordic Skiing, and Hockey, are starting to gather and practice. As well I’m sure they'll do good as well. All they need is the support of UNBC students showing up at games. Sure you can get most of your UNBC Athletics information here or from the athletes themselves, _ but going is always best. Plus itis sports, which is always enter- taining. Being the new Sports Editor, | also need your help. If you are on any team or part of any club that plays sports. It is as if Norman gave his discreet hotel to openly become Manhattan’s cut- throat towering tyrant. In a surprising way, Bateman’s uninterrupted violent rampage does not seem too abnormal or even newsworthy. The scariest things about Harron’s film is the callous response it evokes. At one point in the film, | could not help but smile when people in the theatre started rooting for Bateman. The rea- son for this either it is an anec- dote of our desensitized cul- ture or that Bateman’s targets were so convincingly banal and artificial it hardly mattered. Bateman is a nut case, howev- er he does not need to ‘get a life’ like the rest of the film’s players. Perhaps this is the first time in the American film where the movie’s culture is virtually more frightening than the American psycho. =Exhange Opportunities - Now! tunity in every program, on just about every continent (South Africa is currently being nego- tiated).
