A wise man once said that, regardless of the way in which a country is governed, law and order
could not be maintained peacefully unless the people of that country respected those who administer

Germany, with its Gestapo has proved the wisdom of this statement. Violence, terror and crime are
rampant in this country whose police are feared, hated and mistrusted by the people.

We may count ourselves fortunate to live in a country where law and order is administered by men
trained not only in the science of crime detection, but also in the laws of courtesy and common sense.

The B.C. Provincial Police have an enviable record both as foes of the criminal and as ambassadors
of good-will.

It is our pleasure to pay tribute to this Force and the manner in which they maintain—Respect for
Law and Order.
