OVER THE EDGE danuary 30, 2008 | Standing by a post _| Looking sideways at passing cars Glaring at ugly grey Pissing poison onto the street: This stupid ugly world Is moving backwards up a corpse’s ass. Rings of flame fall Breaking dreams Breaking promises, rules, And burning hopes of escape: It’s a crime But that’s the way The world is bent. The trees are burning; _| Black smoke rises, polluting the blue, _| Blotting out happiness, And greying the sky: Now, the atmosphere displays rot: My condition. When It Comes Together By Cody Willett In the late winter mist we stood on just fallen snow. Two sets of tracks ran toward where she and I stood together. Our hearts were melting boilers from the intense softness glowing in our eyes. An affection shared only between two best friends who finally started realizing it was their time had breached the lips of a dam releasing all that was held back. I am a black cat and I see more than my share. People should avoid me for I cause tribulation. None dare cross me for I am feared and I will cross them right back. I am intrigue ascribed by instincts of the supernatural. Controversy surrounds me as my deeds reach ears I don’t even know. Self sufficiency keeps me alive my talents come naturally I stalk the enemy take whatever I want frolic in the catnip and disappear into the night with the hunted. Only one impervious to my stigma only one who flouts the superstition can love me and call me theirs. Until that one finds me I jump from feline to feline leaving promises leaving hearts leaving lives shattered like mirrors yet none see my pain my despair my loneliness.
